2011 - 2012 Westtown Fund Campaign
What a Year!
2,909 members of the Westtown community came together this year to raise a record-breaking $1,185,855! What an incredible show of support for our students, faculty, staff and the wonderful education Westtown School provides. Every single dollar donated made a difference and is the reason why we had another record-breaking year. Read below for some details on this incredible year.
Breaking-down $1,185,855:
Gifts between $.01 - $99 totaled: $45,076 (we wouldn't have reached our record total without you!)
Gifts between $100 - $999 totaled: $252,806
Gifts of $1,000+ totaled: $887,975
Participation:
Alumni - 29% (1,791 donors)
Current Parents - 63% (371 donors)
Board of Trustees - 100% (22 donors)
Faculty/Staff - 98% (218 donors)
Parents of Alumni - 28% (640 donors)
Grandparents - 18% (220 donors)
Class of 2012 - 100%!!
Highest Reunion Alumni Class - 1937 with 69%!
Highest Non Reunion Alumni Class - 1953 with 61%!
Highest Current Parent Class - 2014 with 76% of all parents participating!
The Westtown Fund
Each year, thousands of community members - including alumni, parents, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty and staff members, students, and friends - combine resources to fund the operating budget and help provide our students the best possible Westtown education. All gifts to this fund are unrestricted and are used where they are needed on a daily basis. This means that a gift to the Westtown Fund is a gift to the entire school and a profound expression of support for Westtown’s mission.
Your participation is as important as the amount of your gift because it inspires others to give, and to give more generously. As an alumnus has stated, “If I had a million dollars to give away, the first thing I would ask is, 'How many people participate in the Westtown Fund?’”
Join our Granolithic Society - started in 2010 to formally honor and recognized our many community members who give every year to the Westtown Fund. Membership in the Granolithic Society begins at 2 years of consecutive giving to the Westtown Fund. We have some community members who have been giving consecutively for 24 years! Join our loyal group of donors and make a gift this year! Let me know if you have any questions about your giving history.
Participation at the leadership level is also very important: the $200,000 increase in the Westtown Fund over the past five years is the result of increase in the number of donors (a 600+ increase in donors!), giving at all levels, and a result of gifts of $1,000 or more. The alumnus quoted above is a founding member of The 1799 Society, which consists of those donors able and willing to contribute a very generous amount to the Westtown Fund.
