Parent Events

Parents are always welcome to visit their children at Westtown School.  We hope that you will join us for a visit whenever the opportunity presents itself, whether it's for a special planned event, to volunteer in one of the divisions, or just to have dinner in the dining room with your Upper School student. 

Below is a list of some of the events scheduled for the 2010-2011 school year.  Check back often for updates.  For information concerning events organized by the Parent Councils in the three divisions, please contact the appropriate division's office. For information about events for alumni -- many of which parents are welcome to attend -- please visit our "Alumni Events" page. Middle School Parents' Day

8:15 am - 12:15 pm

Meet your children's teachers and discover what they will study throughout the year in this half-day session for parents. (Students will participate in other activities at school while you take their places in the classroom!)

Lower School Back to School Night
Thursday, September 30, 2010
7:00 pm

Parents begin the evening in the Meeting House for introductions, then proceed to the Lower School building to hear more about the coming year from your children's teachers.

Upper School Parents' Weekend

Upper School parents expericence a "day in the life" by joining their children for a day of classes and lunch. Friday evening features a reception for parents. Saturday typically includes various workshops for parents.

Biennial Auction

Radnor Hunt

The first Westtown Auction in support of financial aid was held in May 2004 and is now held every other year. Parents and alumni, as well as the administration, faculty, and staff of Westtown School collaborate in the preparations for this event in a spirit that clearly reflects the strengths of Westtown and our community. Proceeds from prior auctions benefited financial aid.  For more information or to volunteer, please visit our Auction page or contact Carol Trask. 

Holiday Cookie Exchange

Our Cookie Exchange takes the place of our December First Friday. Bring a couple dozen cookies to share and leave the exchange with a couple dozen different cookies! Another highlight of this event -- the unveiling of the limited edition Westtown holiday ornament. Look for more details in November.

Celebrate the Arts: Art Show & Sale

Our annual Art Show & Sale showcases and celebrates the talents of our community of artists (parents, alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff), as well as some area artists. Our Friday evening opening from 5:30-7:30 pm features a reception with the artists and live performances by some of our talented students. The Show & Sale continues on Saturday from noon to 5 pm. Grandparents' Day

Grandparents' Day provides a special opportunity for grandparents (or special persons in lieu of a grandparent) to spend a portion of the school day with their grandchildren.  Parents can be involved in Grandparents' Day by assisting with registration and hospitality.  For more information or to register a grandparent or surrogate grandparent for the day, please click here or email events@westtown.edu.    

Annual Westtown School Golf Outing

This event, now in its seventh season, marks a great day of golf and friendship in support of financial aid! Our 2011 Golf Outing will be held at RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve in Phoenixville, PA. Westtown School Garden Tour

Join us as we celebrate Spring! Enjoy an evening reception/garden party on Saturday, June 4, followed by a daytime, self-guided tour of seven lovely gardens on Sunday, June 5. Box lunches are available so you will have plenty of time to enjoy the gardens. For more information, click here.

Volunteer Appreciation Barbecue

We invite all parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends of Westtown who volunteer in any capacity at the school during the year to join us for a barbecue in their honor.  Look for further details in Spring 2011. 

Families of 8th grade students are invited to the Barton-Test Theater to celebrate the accomplishments of our students as they complete their middle school journeys. 

Lower School Final Meeting for Worship 
Thursday, June 9, 2011
10:00 a.m.

Families of 5th grade students are invited to the Meeting House to share in worship as the students prepare for their journey to middle school and reflect on their lower school years. Families are invited to a luncheon immediately after Meeting.
